They are some of the biggest stars in the world and are treated like the Hollywood version of royalty.
But Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman were among the A-listers having to take a back seat to the star power of true royals The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening.
They joined a slew of celebrities from film and television at a special Bafta Brits to Watch gala which took place at the Belasco Theatre in the Downtown area of Los Angeles.
The stars were certainly pulling out the stops for the event, which was held to honour and promote young British talent.
Lopez looked stunning in a one shouldered forest Emilio Pucci gown, slashed at the side, complete with an embellished sleeve.
The dress served to show off the American Idol judge's curvy figure as she waved to fans during a brief pose on the carpet.
Nicole Kidman also looked stunning in a baby blue Elie Saab Haute Couture gown with beading detail, teamed with Manolo Blahnik heels.

Dressed in a tuxedo, Tom Hanks smiled broadly as he arrived with his wife Rita Wilson, who wore an ice-blue floor length gown.
Meanwhile Jennifer Garner and Blake Lively both arrived alone with Lively's rumoured new boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio on holiday in Italy.
Without husband Ben Affleck, Garner wore a one shouldered midnight blue gown while Lively went for a more daring look in a sheer ice blue number.
Towering sheer heels completed the look.

They were joined by Jack Black, who beamed as he arrived on the carpet with his wife Tanya who wore a red gown and wedge style sandals.
But the event wasn't just reserved for Hollywood stars.
British star Cat Deeley, who is based in Los Angeles and hosts talent show So You Think You Can Dance, arrived looking stunning in a halterneck pale blue gown, with her blonde hair in loose waves down her back.

She joined a slew of other celebrities wearing paler colours on the carpet.
Zooey Deschanel plumped for a sparkling silver Oscar de la Renta number while Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss and actress Elizabeth Banks chose white for the occasion.
Banks sported a one shouldered white gown with gold button detail and strappy sandals.
However tennis ace Anna Kournikova went for a more striking green one shouldered number, joining Maria Bello and Glee star Kristin Chenoweth who wore metallic tones in Donna Karen silver and BCBG Max Azria gold respectively.

Desperate Housewives actress Dana Delany looked excited as she arrived in a strapless sea green and navy dress, clutching a rather bizarre orange and black stole.
Weeds actress Mary-Louise Parker and Captain America actor Chris Evans also joined the party, with Parker in a striking red gown.
But they had to wait at least an hour to mingle with the royal couple.

Prince William and Kate were late to the red carpet after their journey from Santa Barbara where William competed in a polo game.
Before going inside the event, the royal couple took time to meet some of their waiting American fans, shaking hands and chatting with several onlookers.
William gave a short introductory speech where he gave a jokey mention to Colin Firth's Oscar winning role as his great grandfather King George VI.

'I'd like to thank Colin Firth for my opening line: "I have a voice,"' he said, before urging Hollywood to embrace a new wave of British talent.
'Please give them the opportunities you have always extended to some of the brightest and best that Britain has to offer,' he said. 'When American and British creative talent gets together, magic happens.'
After the introduction, the royals mingled with the stars.
Kate, wearing a floor length lavender gown, was spotted sharing a joke with Hanks and Wilson, while Prince William chatted with singer Barbra Streisand.
