He's ditched the gargantuan house breaks and rave sirens to make ? shockingly ? a polite dance single aimed at Radio 2
In 2010 Groove Armada released their sixth album, Black Light, which included a startling Will Young collaboration called History, in which the Pop Idol alumnus revealed a hitherto hidden falsetto over icy synths and dance beats that wouldn't startle your mum. Its success has paved the way for Young's fifth album, Echoes, produced by Richard X (Sugababes, Annie), where his soulful voice is drowned out by gargantuan house breaks and 2-step beats. We jest, of course, with first single Jealousy a stately, radio-friendly slice of polite dance music with a fantastic vocal. It will sound amazing on Radio 2, and we mean that in a good way.
? Echoes is released on 22 August, with Jealousy out the day before
