A slightly embarrassing sacking apparently hasn't deterred Cheryl Cole from trying to crack America.The Geordie lass arrived in LA earlier wearing a beaming smile but she made sure to keep a tight grip on Girls Aloud pal Kimberley Walsh's hand so perhaps those oversized shades and the sheepish gilet were hiding some nerves.
It could be excitement, of course - it's possible that Chezza is simply Stateside to check that Ashley has fulfilled one of her many rumoured demands - the all-important LA pad.
After all, now that she's dumped her long-time manager for showbiz buddy Will.i.am, a base in the US will undoubtedly make life easier.
And Cheryl won't have to worry about her privacy being invaded either because the injunction banning the paps from harassing her has been extended.
At a court hearing, Cole's rep David Sherbore said: "The claimant is not trying to prevent ANY photos being taken - especially by her fans - but to stop the extreme tactics of paparazzi, which have made her life fairly intolerable."
Something tells us Cheryl may have just gained a lot of middle-aged fans with very expensive cameras.
