The London four-piece treat us to an exclusive free download of the closing track from their forthcoming debut album
London-based band Veronica Falls have so far lead a charmed existence. For one thing, their first record deal, with New York label Captured Tracks, came just 10 minutes after they launched their MySpace page. The label released the band's first single, the doom-laden Found Love in a Graveyard, which lead to further one-track deals before they signed to Bella Union earlier this year. The title of that first single sums up Veronica Falls' sound: sinister, evocative and strangely hopeful. It also happens to be incredibly catchy, much like Come On Over, the closing track on their forthcoming debut album, due 17 October, and premiered here exclusively as a free download. Opening as a pretty, Felt-esque amble, it soon morphs into something more urgent, with James Hoare and Roxanne Clifford duetting over chiming guitars and galloping drums.
