The Philippines' Bishops are again, on the grill. Seven friendly priests asked for LUXURY vehicles from President Gloria Arroyo's previous administration. Whew!
Pajero? Montero? Ain' that too much?
The clergymen should live in the spirit of poverty. By that we mean, they shouldn't strive and want uber luxury. And now, what they were saying, because kesho the road is rocky daw, they needed comfort in their travels to the liblib barangays - that's what a 1.7 million vehicle would bring you daw.

GOD HAVE MERCY!
The fund/donations that were used to grant the Bishops' wish to buy those LUXURY vehicles came from PAGCOR, a government owned corporation that specializes in gambling - which, correct me if i'm wrong, the Bishops are against gambling.
Since there's a Senate inquiry about the anomalous giving of funds to the Bishops, the Honorable Deogracias Iniguez guested in Jessica Soho's 9pm weekday news program.
The respected news anchor asked Iniguez on why the Bishops has kept on asking for donation from PAGCOR.
The obviously surprised Iniguez answered weakly. He stipulated that if a priest's diocese badly needed help, he'd resort to donations even from the 'sinful' PAGCOR. (it wasn't even donated, they asked for it)
To sum it up, it went like this: So what if the money came from gambling, at-least it would help the needy. Robin Hood? Is that you?
Which made me think, Really? Do I smell compromise? What about their stand on gambling, their principles? Iniguez clearly pointed out, "the end will justify the means."
Hello Bishops! God wouldn't want that.
